Over 100 classic Mercedes-Benz owners and a wealth of spectators made the trek to their favorite marque’s U.S. corporate headquarters for the 51st annual “June Jamboree” car show, sponsored by the Northern New Jersey chapter Mercedes Club .

Vehicles competed in 13 classes of Concours judging, where each was scrutinized by judges and rated on a point system for authenticity and cleanliness of:

1. Interior, upholstery, trunk, hard top, soft top

2. Chrome, plastic, rubber, glass, lights, trim.

3. Engine compartment.

4. Exterior paint, finish, bodywork.

Equally participated in was the “Popular Vote” category where show goers simply vote for their favorite vehicle entries, split into seven categories based on vintage.

New this year was a Silver Star Preservation Class, applicable to 1989 or older models.  Designed to evaluate each vehicle on how closely it’s been preserved to factory  specifications by the use of a point scoring system, those achieving 60 points or better in three of the five categories earned a Silver Star Preservation Certificate.
